The Wood Between the Worlds

About Me

I could be dull and absolutely boring and point out all of the generic things about me in the form of a list, or I could try harder and make it a little more interesting so you would actually wish to read this! If you comment and leave me three questions I will answer those and add them to the page that way you will know things about me that YOU actually want to know. :)

Kiri Liz's questions:
1. Favorite genre of music? Definitely sacred or classical! I love good music! Oh, and some soundtracks are pretty good, too, but I think I can safely say that sacred is the one on top for me!

2. Favorite outside activity? I'm not that much of an outside person, but I do enjoy social events with friends out on the lawn! :)

3. And if everyone in books were real, which literary character would be your best friend? So many to choose from! I probably would have to pick Millie Keith from Martha Finley's Millie Keith series. She loves life, always is a kind friend to everyone no matter how difficult they can be, and God is most important in her life. To have a friend like that where they aren't too embarrassed to openly talk about their walk with the Lord and to encourage each other spiritually is truly a real friend indeed. And sadly, it is so difficult to find sound minded girls like that today.

Karis' questions:
1. What passage in the Bible do you think is the most inspiring and helpful for you? There are so many personal passages of Scripture God wrote for us that teach, administer, and assist. One of my many favorite selections is 1 Corinthians 13.

2. Why is it the most inspiring and helpful? I love this particular chapter of 1 Corinthians because the Lord tells us exactly what true love is. True love is patient, kind, and forgiving to people; true love exhibits no jealousy toward others; true love is not vain and isn't full of pride; true love doesn't behave in an unrighteous manner; true love looks for ways to help others instead of benefiting one's self; true love controls its anger and doesn't lash out; true love doesn't think sinful thoughts; true love doesn't take pleasure in sin, but rejoices in God's truth. As a believer, this is exactly how we are supposed to conduct ourselves, but if our life isn't showing any of this, then we haven't learned what true love really is nor how to apply it. This passage is only a fragment of what God has shown you and me of how we are to truly love in His Word. We must love God first and foremost, and then we can truly love others with the love of God. "And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity."

3. What is your favorite passage of scripture and why? Proverbs 3:5-6 without a doubt. We should never lean on our own understanding because it always leads to failure. If we trust in the Lord with all of our heart He and He alone will direct our paths. The power of God is bigger than this entire universe, and yet, we always seem to overlook or forget that. Surely, if God can move mountains or perform miracles, then surely He will take care of us. Why as Christians are we so easily distracted and overlook the power of God? We forget to acknowledge Him in every thing that we do, and only when things seem to go wrong are we asking for help from Him. We need to remember that we should be diligently searching, obeying, and seeking for His will to be accomplished in every single area of our life. If we can remember to trust Him in everything -the little as well as the big- then He will direct each path of our life. So often, I fail to apply this principle in my daily living and God has to gently remind me through these verses that I need to be trusting Him in ALL things.

Miss Melody Muffin's questions:
1. Who is your favorite character from the Lord Of The Rings or The Hobbit and why is he/she your favorite? Hmmm... that's a tough one. Probably Samwise Gamgee only because he was the reason the entire Middle Earth didn't fall under Sauron's power. If he hadn't helped Frodo on their journey to Mount Doom than Frodo more than likely wouldn't have completed the quest. Sam is definitely a true and loyal friend, compassionate and caring about others besides himself.

2. Is there a single piece of music that can evoke a deep emotional (happy/sad/etc.) response from you?
"His Robes For Mine." Oh, this newer hymn is one of my absolutely favorites!!! The words are so powerful and moving! And in what other song would you sing the words "vicariousness" and "propitiation" in? :) Truly beautiful!

3. Would you rather read about so-called 'grey' villains or 'black' 'real' villains?
Actually, I don't really mind either one. I'm not so picky about the antagonists as I am about my protagonists of a story. Please, don't hate me for it!! :)

I apologize if any of these are too intrusive!
